Death of James E. Drysdale in Kansas City
James E. Drysdale a former Lexington resident died at his Kansas City home Wednesday night at 9 30. He was about 70 born in Kentucky survived by his wife three sons Frank Kansas William St Louis James Jr Kansas City and two daughters Mrs Maggie Cook St Louis Mrs Frank John Cheyenne Wyo. The body returned to Lexington for funeral Friday at 2 30 conducted by Rev T M Cobb. The December county court term opened with a full slate including insanity determinations for Walter Stewart Odessa and Claudius Mallett Lexington and road Lipscomb north south approved commissioners to assess damages on the east west road. W T Bell will trust funds disposition and cemetery funds. bond purchases for Suna bar and Lexington townships. and J Keend appointed county farm superintendent.

Darkey Wrecks Stolen Car In Joy Ride
Martin Newby a colored man stole a Hudson from Herman Fietd at Higginsville Thursday night. He drove to Lexington to pick up companions, then headed for a pleasure trip. The car and load went into a ditch above Myrick, with injuries to all. Newby was arrested Friday evening in Kansas City on Sheriff Talbott’s advice.

Lieut Coleman Eckle wed Miss Gladys Leslie of Tulsa after a Sunday departure. Leslie, a former Central College student, is remembered as talented and charming. Eckle, son of Dr and Mrs W R Eckle, recently earned a lieutenant commission at Fort Sheridan and joins the 12th Cavalry stationed at Columbus New Mexico. The couple arrived in Lexington and he must report for duty December 15.
