Miner killed by falling rock at South Mine
Otto Dierking, 44, born Concordia April 24 1870, was killed when rock fell in the South Mine around noon. William Devlin was fatally injured and is feared to have internal injuries. Survived by widow, son Stanley, daughters Florence and Hazel, mother, three brothers and four sisters. Funeral today at 10 from the home.

Death of county resident William P Robinson at 73
William P Robinson died Tuesday at 12 15 pm at his home south of town from old age and debility. Born August 6 1841 on the family farm, he was 73. Survived by nephews John and George, with George’s wife who cared for him. Funeral held Wednesday at 2 pm from the home, conducted by Rev Carl Burkhardt and Rev R N Allen. Burial in the home cemetery.

Death of Amos Whitsett, longtime county resident and official
Amos Whitsett, 84, a veteran resident of the county and longtime Justice of the Peace for Lexington Township, died this morning at his son Fred Whitsett’s home in Myrick. He was born in Greenton and is survived by two sons, Capt. Walter Whitsett of Kansas City, and Fred of Myrick, and a daughter, Mrs. Alice Pierce. Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Myrick home.

Missouri court validates union of Presbyterian churches
Missouri supreme court on Tuesday upheld the consolidation of the Presbyterian and Cumberland Presbyterian churches. The ruling transfers the Cumberland Marshall property to the Presbyterian church after overturning a lower court decision.
