Plattenburg and Moorehead named delegates to State Road hearing
At a Commercial club meeting JQ Plattenburg and J R Moorehead were appointed delegates to appear before the State Agriculture Board in Jefferson City next Monday. They will advocate Lexington in favor of the proposed State Road route between St Louis and Kaitikas City. The election of officers was postponed to the next regular meeting.

Thursday Great Fair Draws Huge Higginsville Crowd
A vast audience estimated at nine to ten thousand attended the Higginsville fair on Thursday with many from Lexington driving over after about three hundred tickets were sold there. The racing was excellent and a collision between conveyances injured a Lexington woman, though not seriously. The fall fair closed strongly, praised for its racing crowds first class attractions and superior stock exhibit.

Firebreak at Dr Gallemore's Office Sparks Narrow Escape
Early Friday morning about 20 o'clock Dr J M Gallemore who rents above Shawe's Hardware Store woke to smoke and moved to the door. He found fire entering his room from the hall and tried to telephone the alarm but the flames burst through the transom, forcing him to flee out a back window with his clothes.
