Patriotism Parade Unites Lexington in Loyalty to the Flag
Thousands joined a Tuesday parade and citywide demonstration showing united allegiance to the United States Government amid the present crises. A twelve member committee organized the event with Capt. R. P. Palmer as marshal and speakers at the courthouse. Col. Clarence Vivian, E. M. Taubman, C. A. Keith, H. F. Blackwell and Col. Harry Blee addressed the crowd as bands and choirs performed.

Death of Mrs Laura Dooley
A message announced the death of Mrs. Laura Dooley, formerly a resident, who died last Friday at her daughter Mrs Marion Early’s home in Los Angeles. Mrs Early was formerly Mrs. Sanford Thornton. The body arrived in Lexington Tuesday evening and was hurried from the train.

Colored Men Show Patriotism in Kansas City Training

William Beisenherz noted citizen dies at 5:45 at 2011 South Street from heart disease. Born in Germany May 30, 1853 he came from Concordia fifteen years ago and worked at Winkler Furniture. Survived by wife and seven sons Henry of Concordia William of Casriana Edward Ewald Albert Walter and Paul all of this city. Funeral held at home and body taken to Concordia for burial.

Athletics Win First Game in Season Over Ackerman Quigley
