Idaho seizes a decisive victory on a joint ballot securing control of the state legislature with a margin exceeding forty seats. The result confirms a strong Republican path in the state's political landscape.
Republican majorities grow across Idaho with 17 Senate seats and 37 House seats to Republicans and 4 and 9 for Democrats. Key districts reelect judges Geo H Stewart Littleton Price Alfred Budge Ralph Morgan and Edgar C Steele. Democratic leaders boast limited gains in Ada Idaho and Latah counties amid slow returns in Kootenai and Idaho counties. Funeral details for Kamiah resident, father of Mrs Waldman, set for Saturday.
With 24 of 26 precincts reported the Republican county ticket won all major offices except auditor. Schuldt led sheriff, Chesley probate judge, and Lydon auditor. State results favored Republicans with Morrison governor and Crum senator. Nez Perce precincts like Lewiston, Red Rock, and Leland swung Republican, while Democrats contested legislature and some county offices. Chairman Thompson organized a strong campaign, making Nez Perce the leading county in the state.
