Rural Free Delivery Planned From Mohler Idaho

Citizens near Mohler, Idaho, secured rural mail delivery after months of effort. Senator Dubois was notified and Special Agent Fogarty inspected the route. The department issued a letter to Dubois stating the Fogarty report recommends establishing rural free delivery from Mohler with favorable action anticipated and notice to follow. Nez Perce county school census shows six school aged children, up 1340 from last year, likely making it the largest school county in the state. Fremont county previously held that distinction.

Harry Baughman returned Sunday from the Yukon country where he spent the season steamboating. He ran White Horse to Dawson reporting the busiest season ever, with May 30 as his starting trip and 167 passengers aboard. He left Dawson October 19 amid heavy ice as the river froze. The Klondike output fell this season but may surge in two years as boom days return.

Knights of Pythias District Convention at Kendrick

The second annual Knights of Pythias district meeting for northern Idaho will be in Kendrick on November 20. O R and Northern Pacific offer a fare and a third round trip certificate plan. Invitations go to lodges in northern Idaho and eastern Washington. Knights along the O R and N line will buy Moscow-bound tickets. In other news several old offices moved for updated premises Barnett the abstract man moved to Beach block second floor over Owl Drug Store Dr Randall now has office rooms in the same block and Dr Hinkley moved from Agama block to Beach block.

Patriot preacher urges citizens to vote conscience first

Rev. J. A. Pine of the First Christian church preached on citizen duties and voting at elections, urging every person to go to the polls and cast a conscience guided ballot. T. Orbison visited the city yesterday to finalize his political canvass, completing his campaign tour.
