MISS BOOTH LETTERS REVEAL FINAL REQUESTS BEFORE DEATH
Miss Booth writes to Mr Gillette asking him to deliver a message to her father and to attend the aftermath of a planned double burial. She and an unnamed companion express readiness to die together, asking for simple rites, forgiveness, and a service led by Rev Le Crone, citing religious phrases and a desire to rest together rather than endure further scandal. The two letters, found in one envelope, were posted early Monday morning with Dr Ledbrook’s yesterday’s date.
