Death of C A Freeman At Peek And Interment At Lewiston

The death of C A Freeman occurred at Peek yesterday and the body was received at Lewiston today for interment in the Wiston cemetery. Undertaker Vassar was ordered to be in waiting at TA in the morning and the body sent directly to the cemetery. The cantata of Queen Esther at the opera house last night raised between 50 and 60 dollars for the Episcopal church guild.

Idaho fish and game license law enacted

The legislature enacts a new fish and game license law requiring residents to obtain a license for hunting or fishing. All male residents over 12 pay $1. females may fish or hunt without a license. Non-residents pay $25 for general license and $5 for hunting birds or fishing with a hook. Licenses expire February 15 after issuance. Violations carry fines up to $300 or six months imprisonment. The law assigns enforcement to state wardens and police, with penalties for arson harming forests and illegal transport of animal parts. Fred Fenn and wife of Boise visit Kooskia as he leaves Boise Statesman.

District court opens with busy term in Idaho

The spring term of the district court convenes here Monday after a one week postponement to let the supreme court finish its calendar. Over one hundred cases fill the calendar with more to come. April 2 jury call and early week for calendar and trial setup. Criminal docket light with eight cases including State v McFall murder and related larceny charges. civil calendar heavy with many suits such as Harbour v Harbour for divorce and First National Bank v grave.

Neill Barnett Wedding Surprise in Lewiston

Miss Sue Neill of Spokane and Marcus Barnett of Lewiston wed at the bride's parents home in Spokane at 8 p.m. Wednesday morning. After a wedding breakfast they rode the Lewiston train to Lewiston, arriving in the afternoon to a warm reception. Barnett has long resided in Lewiston and runs a local business. Miss Neill is a Lewiston Normal student with many friends here. Farmers near Culdesac plow, but frost delays seedling work.
