Mine ledge yields rich ore near Cave Gulch Wendrum prospect
Joe Walker returned from Cave Gulch where he holds a large interest in Wendrum mine. The ledge runs about thirty inches thick with abundant free milling ore. The company has a car load of ore on the dump and five mules packing it to a river boat landing for shipment when the Imnaha navigates the river. Walker will return on the Imnaha’s first trip.

Imnaha steamer tests boilers before Snake voyage
At 7:30 pm the steamer Imnaha left the anchorage, ran the Snake to Clearwater mouth, then up to near the ferry and back to the wharf. A solution in the boilers prevented whistle use. Pressure stayed around 65 psi while test not exceeding 250 psi. Captain Baughman praised the boat as ideal for the rough river and predicted a voyage up the Snake next week for Electrolytic Mining company.

Funeral of Fred J. Gritman
Funeral services were held from the deceaseds Main Street residence for 43 year old Fred H. Gritman. Interment followed at City Cemetery. Born in Illinois, he moved to Dayton Washington in 1881, later relocating to Lewiston to run a livery business with S. L. Mays. He leaves a wife and six children. Death due to Brights disease. He was brother to A. D. Gritman and Rarl Gritman of this place and Dr. Gritman of Moscow.
