Dit Trick Court Opens Amid County Jury Draw in Hettinger

District Court Judge Crawford set Monday October 11 as opening date for another Dit Trick Court session. Citizens received word via deputy Sheriff Barry that jurors have been drawn including Oscar Kingstad and many others. A late night raid at Lemmon involved a social visit turned legal. defendants pleaded guilty, fined about 240 dollars, and urged to reform, then returned to Lemmon.

North Dakota Move Upends Stockyards Club Plans

A proposed shift of a local gentleman’s establishment near the Stockyards aimed to dodge local and state laws by relocating to North Dakota land near the state line. The plan promised proximity to Lemmon and access to beer, but was thwarted by timely intervention from States Attorney Norton. Farmers near the border grew nervous about law enforcement, and letters of concern circulated as the scheme unravelled.
