Perkins County Circuit Court to Convene Next Tuesday

The Perkins circuit court sits next Tuesday with a long criminal and civil calendar. Sheriff Anderson will return prisoners from Aberdeeen. The major case is Lowry versus the killing of August Banick near Maltby. Several horse theft and related cases are on the docket. Judge Carpenter presides. Delia Bail seeks name restoration.

Bound Over to Circuit Court in Horse Theft Case

Three men charged with stealing horses from John Livingston were bound over for circuit court after appearing before Justice Sampson. Crayenbrinck, who turned state's evidence, is in $1500 bond. Jim Clayton and Dan Seers are on WX bonds. Bail denied. awaiting trial, with proceedings adjourned to the commercial club rooms. States Attorney Amos Stanley and Peter J. Tscharner prosecuted. Pert Helm defended. Minor evidence on alleged partnership in theft of a brown stallion, gray mare, and harnesses. separate case planned for two blacks not at Shields. The Lemmon fire department will hold its third annual firemen’s ball next Friday, May 19, at the new skating rink.

Presbyterian Ladies Aid Meeting Invites All Ladies

The Presbyterian Ladies Aid will meet with Mrs. Kirkland on Thursday May 7. An cordial invitation is extended to all ladies to attend the gathering at the stated time and place.

Militia Boys Get Guns For Local Company Militia

The local militia company received armament including a United States magazine rifle bayonet scabbard and belt. The weapon is government property with a claimed carrying capacity over five miles and a 2800 yard sight range. At one mile its bullet can penetrate 18 inch planks. Monday evening special drill was held outdoors and regular drills continue at Smith's hall on Wednesdays. The unit, aided by Capt. Otto B. Lindstad who arrived to become court reporter, is improving rapidly for upcoming maneuvers.

Lemmon Band Hosts Dance at New Skating Rink

Tonight the Lemmon band will host a dancing party at the new skating rink with buses arriving for ward anticipated attendance.
