Lemmon land office officials received a telegram announcing the emergency law’s passage granting homesteaders a general leave of absence from their land through April 15, 1912. No personal application needed, credit kept for prior residence on the land. Widespread rain and showers refresh crops, revive fields, and boost predicted yields this season barring early frost.
At Monday council meeting bids for the city reservoir were reviewed. Edward J. Ziltz won the excavation bid at 26 cents per cubic yard. Concrete bids ranged from Kelley Carlson 1680 to Wim Ecker 1144, with Wim Ecker the lowest awarded. Bonds for winners approved at Thursday session and Ziltz began excavation south of the old reservoir. Mrs D W Campbell returned from Cottonwood S D and was joined by her daughter Mrs Hazel Obler visiting here.
