The commercial club met Saturday night in the dark building club room. Reports from various committees showed progress on the weadertakin ee project. A new social entertainments committee was suggested and Dr. Weetphel of Pleasant Grove attended the meeting.
The pumps at the head of Jordan plowed down for the season except one in Salt Lake City used for street sprinkling. The board of presidents of the canals met to inspect the plant and plan improvements. W A Knight signed for another year as foreman. the plant now requires three men to operate.
Program for a Tuesday October 24 event lists talks by Songe Stobe Whiting Ethel Ross and others at Central School House Chipman Mere American Fork. Cordial meeting extended to all young people under 21 to attend. Local merchants claim Utah County store offers largest newest stock and best selection.
A group met Tuesday night in the editor house to slate a municipal ticket. The candidates listed include Mayor Joby Wills, Recorder William Teioninen Jr, Treasurer Samuel Pelerot, Justice of Peace R J Whipple, and councilmen William Evans Robt Gilchrist J B Cotter William Sundreland.
No school tomorrow due to teachers’ visiting day. One hundred citizens signed this call for a concert at the Lehi Opera House Saturday Evening October 21st. The Silver Band and M. I. A. Orchestra will be present with good singing.
