The Sugar factory began operations Tuesday at 7 AM. Auxiliary plants at Springville and Spanish Fork started the day earlier. The Biefend plant is not ready yet and will take one to two weeks. The Steffens plant will be ready soon and bring in workers to Utah.
Preliminary surveys conducted Saturday by Ray Wenta a votrity surveyor with Morgan Evans and others map a plan for an irrigation plant from the lake to TBR Jones farm. Three outlets would draw water from the rain pipe at elevations 50 64 and 75 feet near county road Jus Gray and Jones farm. Costs for plant pipe line and annual maintenance will be submitted for voters after necessary preparations for the irrigation project are assessed.
City council members discussed an experimental well on the city’s east side with the Commercial Club and weighed licensing changes reducing the hotel license fee. Treasury reports list expenses for police, repairs, pavilion work, and city printing.
