July Fourth events hosted by the Daughters of the Pioneers of Utah County include a morning train arrival, a city park reception, a banquet, and a fluent program. Dignitaries, clergy, and various committee members from multiple wards will attend and organize the celebration.

Small Boys and Matches Cause Fire Near Shed

A noontime blaze near H. Osterbach’s buggy shed damaged a hay stack and part of the shed. Two boys started a small fire for apples, water shortages hindered firefighting, and the loss reached about $75. Citizens urge a city water system after the incident.

Commercial Club meeting at the Opera House

Enthusiastic Commercial Club gathering discussed committee reports. The house committee said club rooms will be papered and painted for occupancy by the next meeting. Prof Ball of the Agricultural College spoke on progress and urged concerted effort. A charter member class added Hower Kendall. A committee was formed to study water supply suppression.

The annual outing of the Tish County Musicline will be held at Lagoon on July 18 via the Balt Route under the auspices of the Ant Grove Concert Rally. The American Inn Impresses Utah Association Visitors

Fifty four Utah Association members toured the Lewte and Exposition and lodged at the American Inn. The hotel, described as the Northwest’s largest, has six hundred rooms, ample dining space, and high service standards. Guests praised the location, cuisine, and accommodations as a major stop for Exposition visitors.
