Death of Joli Lewis under railroad tracks in Third ward

Joli Lewis, 27, son of Bishop Lewis, was found dead on Fourth South railroad tracks after leaving a field work party. His body was moved to the courthouse in a somber funeral, with the family and friends gathering for services at Bishop Lewis's home. He leaves a wife and one child.

Lehi’s Fourth Celebrations and Local Games

Early Fourth of July events in Lehi featured cannon, music from the Silver Band and Leti Orchestra, and a crowd at the city pavilion. G N Child led the program. children attended a Ferner dance while a ball game pitted Wirse against Eleo Christensen, won by Christensen. Vaughn, Hammer, and Lott horses raced with Vaughn first. Lehi beat Fairfield and An Fork in a second game with more foot races following the ball gate.

Edward Bone Home Mission to Brooklyn Conference

Edward Bone returns home from the Master States mission on June 2. He departed March 25 193, heading to New York where he labors in the Brooklyn conference serving Greater New York and Lang Astenyl. The work faces strong religious indifference and local prejudice against Mormonism, with bans on street preaching in Manhattan. Despite challenges, about one hundred faithful in the Brooklyn conference remain devoted and welcoming to elders. Bre Bowe remains optimistic about missionary work in New York.

Wedding Celebration in Mall Lake Temple Gathered Relatives

On Wednesday June 8th Charlotte Cough and Wo Hadfield were wed with Pree J BR Winder officiating. About 100 relatives from Murray Idaho Falla Prove Am Fork and Lehi attended the home of Jos Gough for a formal reception. An elegant supper was served. The rooms were decorated with roses and emotions. Gifts to the couple included many niece presents. They will reside at Wai Gongl’s home.

Alpine Stake Priesthood Meeting Report 1905

The Alpine stake convened at Science Hall in American Fork on Saturday July 1 1905 at 10 am with eight present led by L Chipman. Attendance reached 78 with minutes confirmed and several elders ordained while others were excused. Reports from Leonard Harrington about 120 elders in the Northern States mission and concerns over elder discipline were shared, and the meeting closed after prayer, song and benediction.
