Factory To Start Sugar Production This Fall
The factory will begin syrup work on September 2 with the big whistle signaling start. Beets will flow into the sheds and by September 9 a stream of beets enters the factory as farmers start digging. Some beets may ripen later if weather delays, delaying operation. A crew is readying machinery to prevent delays. Notable visitors include Mrs H A Vallex and Dr G P Carver who reports watermelon sugar experiments. Beet crops look promising with estimates of 20 tons per acre on many fields, though some poor plots may lower averages.
