Cedar Valley Dry Farms Shows Promise of Wheat Expansion

Midnight Bell Mine to Resume Work After Inspection

Directors led by A. F. Evans and Henry Lewis inspected the Alpine property and ordered resumption of sinking to access a vein of silver ore. The tunnel is about 200 feet in the hill with a 25 foot deep vein, and stock has recently traded at 10 cents per share. Work will restart to reawaken interest in the promising property.

Big Pumps Tested at Jordan Plant in High Water Heat

Engineer Kelsey for Associated Cinal Companies with Fairbanks Morse representatives tested two new pumps and a 100 horsepower gasoline engine at the Jordan pumping plant. The test pleased officials, but no new pumping is planned this year. The lake fills under hot weather as 80 percent of outflow is evaporation and 20 percent flows downriver. Directors, including Mr. Koviet, spent time on Armement Fork exploring Door Creek site for a power plant to operate the pumps next year. An option exists on the power site from C W Karl and John H M Wootten.

Postmasters to Meet in Lehi This Month

The Utah County Postmasters association will hold a session at Lehi on the 22nd. Visiting postmasters will be hosted by Postmaster and Mrs. Rovs at Saratoga Springs. The day features topics on improving the service and a moonlit evening of boating bathing and fishing.

Samuel Gough Farewell Celebration Details

Sutumbaweyo the Phiped Ward Choir held a farewell social for Samuel Gough with a prepared and well rendered program. The Missionary Fund Committee hosted a sacred concert in his honor and raised a purse of 817, plus 35 from the committee. A Monday progress party added 25. He departed Tuesday morning for a mission in the Northern States, beginning in Chicago.

American Fork Flour Mill Destroyed By Fire

A Sunday to Monday blaze at the American Fork flour mill, once owned by W. D. Totinson and later by the Cannon Estate of Salt Lake, destroyed the mill after a lantern explosion. The building stood outside the city, preventing rapid aid. Estimated loss about 1,000 with many losing their winter grist as the mill reportedly carried no insurance.
