Carnival man charged with serious crime in North Central Washington
World reports John Boyer head of a traveling street carnival company was arrested in Leavenworth by Deputy Sheriff Parker on a charge of contributing to the delinquency of a 17 year old girl not his wife. He and the girl had registered as husband and wife at hotels.

Monitor Man Killed in Bad Auto Spill

Seaman and Clark Escape Fire on Lake Chelan
George K. Seaman and his nephew Sam Clark escaped a 30 foot launch fire on Lake Chelan after the motor stalled and one gas tank exploded. They swam to shore in ice cold water. Seaman sustained an arm injury and was under a physician’s care, while Clark walked four miles to bring help. The boat, worth about $2000 and able to carry 15 passengers, was fully insured.

Dr. William M. Cox of Leavenworth files for divorce from Eliza beth Cox in Chelan county superior court. The suit alleges cruelty and abusive language, nightly insomnia from her conduct, and interference with his hospital and medical practice. The marriage occurred August 8, 1919 in Kentucky before moving to Leavenworth.

Nearing a Mile of New Locomotives for G N Railway
In St Paul on October 20, the Great Northern Railway received the first two of 45 Mikado type locomotives from Baldwin. Each 83 foot locomotive weighs 518000 pounds with a 10000 gallon water capacity and a 16 ton coal tender. The $3.15 million fleet includes Vanderbilt style tenders and modern features like stokers and superheaters. Remaining engines will join service along the line.
