Local apple show displays rival to Seattle event
A week long window exhibit at Adams & Carr on Front Street showcases hand grown apples and vegetables from within a mile of Leavenworth. Highlights include two forty two pound turnips and a four pound nine ounce potato, with many named varieties and growers such as H S McNett Charles Fox and A H Leftwich. An overflow display at Leavenworth Mercantile Co features Jonathan Twenty ounce Pippin and Red Weathersfield onions. Additional potato displays appear on Ninth Street and Reynolds tract. A Crater collision killed Fireman Gus Kunish and Dr J P Cox of Spooner Wis, a passenger, prompting mourning here.

Reynolds Land Opening Outing At Nason Creek
A party of fifteen Leavenworth residents joined a Sunday morning train ride to Nason creek to view the Reynolds land platted beside the Nason creek siding on the Great Northern railway. Francis Peake led the excursion, praising the soil for fruit growing and potential home sites while noting no deals could close due to Sunday laws. Mrs. C. W. Hastings hosted a generous farm kitchen dinner that impressed the visitors, with several expressing intent to buy 25 acre tracts as soon as allowed. The group returned to Leavenworth in the afternoon, including G. A. Hamilton, J. E. Grant, Joe Gangler, and others.
