Leavenworth council handles bills and jail reform clash
Tuesday night’s city council meeting in Leavenworth approved about $130 in monthly bills including a disputed $4 charge for cleaning decayed potatoes from a cellar. An ordinance defining drunkenness was read, and changes to jail security and back door access for liquor were discussed. The council also debated a city water plan as too costly for now.
