Orphans From Polish Russian Train Headed to Chicago
A large group of 164 Polish Russian orphans landed in Seattle and will pass through Leavenworth on the Great Northern to Chicago where countrymen will provide homes. Local merchants funded meals and gifts for the refugees as Agent J C McClure organized Christmas meals, a tree, and decorations in a dining car en route.
