The United States Department of Agriculture outlines trials to send agricultural market news by wireless. About 17 stations would cover a wide area with ten 250 mile radius East stations and five 500 mile West stations, linking to Washington and sharing two daily summarized reports via wireless.
The Whip, a film adaptation of a famous London play, will be shown at the Scenic in Leavenworth on Monday and Tuesday December 12 and 14. It promises race scenes hunting escapes a dramatic train wreck and an automobile crash framed by a gripping story with international success.

School notes report boys and girls basketball practice begun this week. A student-adopted schedule aims to use minimal evenings to allow town teams use. Motion pictures Tuesday evenings, high school floor use 7 to 8 pm Wednesdays and Thursdays. About 26 boys and 20 girls reported for basketball.
Last week students received McCluskey's Favorite Songs and Hymns as part of the state reading circle list. The book is praised as an ideal choice for improving secondary students singing ability and broadening familiarity with standard school songs across the country.
To Improve Attendance. Punctuality and regularity in at tendance have not been as good in the school as they should be, and an at tempt will be made to better the rec ord in this respect by offering a free matinee with the motion picture machine on the school Tuesday after noon following the close of the school month. Each room which has 98 or better in per cent of attendance and not over three cases of tardiness for the month will be admitted to the matinee which will be free. Parents are invited to spend one hour, or more, during the month in class room visitation and then attend the pres in ce which will be free to them also.
Thirty three third graders under Miss Wansbrough form the Leavenworth Audubon Club to study and protect birds.
On Saturday afternoon under Mr Burgett supervision a 75 foot flagpole was installed in front of the school buildings. About a dozen men assisted. After setting the pole Burgett climbed to the top to loosen a rope.
Miss Christopher and Mr. Lindahl will present exhibits of portions of their work in the manual training arts sometime next spring.
Mr. C. A. Hastings is hired as janitor for the gymnasium auditorium with heating excluded. Each janitor has defined duties and Hastings starts at noon and will work until closing after evening events. Mr. Haugh handles firing for all buildings and janitor work in grade and high school structures and maintains the grounds.

Frank Gibson a brakeman on local freight No. 692 suffered a broken hand when an order delivery on No. 28 stalled. He reached to take the order as 28 sped by at 55 mph and 492 pulled slowly on the siding. the arm contact broke two bones. Gibson takes forced layoff for several weeks.
Tex Rickard announced contracts signed by Jess Willard Jack Dempsey and Bill Brennan for a championship bout on March 17 1921 the winner to meet in a title match after the December 14 Dempsey Brennan race in Madison Square Garden unless blocked by the state boxing commission.
