Breezy Bits From Peshastin Community Picnic Recap

The Peshastin community picnic at the Hensel place drew about 500 attendees from nearby towns. Highlights included a Wooly Aphis defeat of the Blistey Mites in baseball, a kid band from Leavenworth, and a rattlesnake interruption that ended badly for the reptile. A baby girl was born to Mr and Mrs John McCoy at the Wenatchee Deaconess hospital weighing 9 pounds. Several social notes follow, including corrections, visits, new jobs, and local anecdotes from residents.

State Plans High Line Canal For Wenatchee And Quincy Areas

Engineers J Van KB Goodner and Lars Langleep will study a proposed high line canal from Lake Wenatchee to irrigate the Wenatchee project and 30 000 acres in the Quincy district with possible Babcock hill district irrigation. The plan may share costs between districts, while a lower line would water Wenatchee but hurt Quincy. State aims to reclaim both districts under a single investigation and possible project design.
