Engineer Outlines Irrigation Project for Quincy Valley
At a rally of the Quincy Valley Water Users association Engineer Joseph Jacobs of Seattle outlined field surveys for Lake Wenatchee water supply and a 65 mile main ditch. A 22 foot siphon or two 15 foot siphons will carry water under the Columbia river with a head near 1000 feet. An earth dam 145 feet high will store enough water to supply 435000 acres at 30 inches. Durham of Spokane endorsed the plan and urged surveys for definite water cost per acre. The project is expected to attract 100000 farming residents and a large urban population in the northwest.
