Great Northern on Columbia River Branch and Chelan Park Talk
Louis Hill of Great Northern predicted trains would run on the Columbia river branch in July during a Chelan visit. He spoke at a railroad men banquet and urged establishing a national park in Lake Chelan country. He estimated the branch line cost at 7 million dollars. The week ending April 11 1914 saw Ford lead Washington car sales with 103, Buick 20 and Overland 18 sold. The Fair Hesperides to be held in Wenatchee will cost 15000 with live stock poultry divisions and premiums totaling 4200 and about 2500 for music and amusements.
