Freezing fruits proves practical preservation method
The Office of Preservation of Fruits and Vegetables reports freezing ripe berries and cherries is now used commercially in sections with surplus production and cold storage. Frozen fruit requires low temperatures around 10 F and should be thawed only when used. Mold may occur if storage temperatures fail. results suit ice cream, pies, and preserves.
