Gehlen High to Be Dedicated Sunday

The new 450.8 building for St. Mary’s high school will be dedicated next Sunday at 3 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Most Rev. Joseph Mueller, bishop of Sioux City, will officiate and Very Rev. Mage J. J. Vollmer of the Globe will give the dedicatory address. More than 100 clergy are expected to attend, with a 5 p.m. dinner for visiting clergy following the program.

Woodbury County Rural Electric Cooperative held its annual meeting Saturday at Moville High School gym. Registration started at 6 p.m. and the program began at 7:30. Lloyd Caulking of Northwest Iowa Power Cooperative gave the main address. Seven directors were elected from candidates including Lloyd R. Harper Jacob William dies at Plymouth County Home

Jacob William Harper born July 1 1883 at Dodge City owned Le Mars since 1938. He married Jennie Ryan in September 1908 in Coleridge Nebraska. A farm laborer, he died September 26 after several months Illness at Plymouth County Home age 70 years 2 months 25 days. Funeral September 28 at St James Catholic Church with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Iowa Public Service Company announces a one day open house October 2 for its new Le Mars Service Building at First Street North and Fourth Avenue NE. Law-abiding Sioux Center Bottle Incident Reported

Bill Williams was struck by a bottle while driving in Sioux Center around 8 15 last night near the town police station. The bottle did not pierce the windshield and the assailant, described as not a kid, walked away to escape arrest as Williams reported the event to police. The on duty officer appeared unconcerned, noting an out of county license plate.

Mrs Anna Franzer Franen dies after long illness

Mrs Anna Franzer Franen died Saturday at Sion City Hospital after a long sickness. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Methodist Church in Kingsley with Dickison Funeral Home of Kingsley in charge. K of C District Meeting Held At Storm Lake

The Western Iowa K of C district met in Storm Lake at the K of C Clubrooms on Sunday September 27. St James church to redecorate interior and statues

Scaffolding rises at St James church for a complete interior redecoration and renovation of all statues and the stage pens. A new altar will be installed. Gustave Krekow dies. rites set in Remsen

Gustave August Krekow, 69, died Saturday at Sacred Heart hospital after a several year illness. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Moeller Funeral Home Remsen and 2:00 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church Remsen with Rev Meyers officiating. Burial will be in a Remsen cemetery. He was born January 31, 1884 in Tilden township Cherokee county Iowa. He married Ellen Klingbeil in February 1907. He farmed south of Remsen from 1919 to 1946 when he retired and moved to Remsen. Survivors include his widow, a brother, five sisters and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

Fire at Hoyt Farm Brings Neighbors to Help
