Child Jackie Feller Dies After Illness in Le Mars
Jackie Feller Sachie Peter Feller nine died at Sacred Heart hospital after six months of poor health. Born in Le Mars in June 1945, he was a third grade pupil at Gehlen grade school. Funeral services were held at St. Joseph's Catholic church with Rt. Rev. Magr officiating. Burial followed at Calvary cemetery under Wiltgen-Luchten funeral home direction. Surviving are his mother Mrs Leonard Hetworth stepfather, Robert, Darlene, grandparents from Le Mars and great grandparents Nick Gerber Maury Dominick. He was preceded in death by his father Joseph Feller.

Buckley Begins Army Basic Training at Bliss Texas
Psi Densis J Buckley 22 son of Mr and Mrs Fred Buckley of Maurice recently began weeks of army basic training at Bliss Texas in the sun aircraft artillery training center. He will study rifle machine gun bazooka marksmanship and familiarization with army technical subjects. The first phase includes a one week maneuver in the field.

Lampard assistant professor at the State University of Iowa and Dr. Ray Bryan head of vocational education at Iowa State College. Lampard born July 6 1920 in Cleveland Mississippi has a rich background in guidance and family life education. Bryan a longtime Iowa educator previously led teacher training and vocational programs across Kansas Nebraska and Iowa.

Durham Man Critical After Highway 735 Crash
Durham Dur ham 26 of Le Mars sustained head and back injuries and remained unconscious at noon after a 1949 Chevrolet driven by Russell Durham lost control 22 miles south of Hinton on Highway 735. Kyle Levin 23 of Corredonville suffered back injuries. both were thrown clear of the wreck and rushed to St Joseph's Mercy Hospital in Sioux City. The car, hauled to Le Mars by Stops Brothers, was a total wreck. Trucker Paul Jensen assisted at the scene and directed traffic. Ruvell Durham is Roy Durham’s son of Le Mars.

The Globe Post reports Dr Norbert Rodman of Evanston Illinois cannot fill the speech instructor post for the upcoming term due to family health emergencies. Mr Durrell of Ohio, a Drake and Western University graduate, will take the position and arrive in Le Mars with his wife and child by September 22 to begin teaching radio speech platform speech and writing.

Priscilla Collins 2, daughter of Mr and Mrs Wayne Collins, was struck by a pickup near the bank corner Monday afternoon. She sustained a forehead gash needing stitches and a checkup after darting in front of the truck driven by John Mangrose. She was treated at Sacred Heart hospital and later by Dr Vanderstoep. her family had stepped into Hansen Hardware.
