Kelley Buys Cumihow Farm at Auction

The Paul Cumihow 160 acre improved farm sold at auction by Richards and Ruden on October 2. High bidder was Robert Kelley of Hinton Route 1 who farms in Liberty section 33 about a mile from the purchased farm. High bid was 200 dollars per acre. The Cumihow place lies a mile south and a mile west and a south of Liberty school.

Federated Clubs Meet Tuesday in Orange City

Accident on Highway 75 Involving Dirks and Mortensen

Cars driven by Gary Dirks and Wendell Mortensen, both of Le Mars, collided on Highway 75 near Bob's Drive-In at 10 30 Thursday night. Dirks was turning into the drive-in when his 1949 Mercury was struck from the rear by Mortensen's 1955 Chevrolet, causing about 100 dollars damage to the Mortensen car and 50 dollars to the Dirks car.

Front-end collision damages two Le Mars vehicles

On Sunday at 250 pm at the Avenue and Plymouth Street southeast a 1986 Oldsmobile driven by Darrell Hoss of Le Mars was damaged in the front end while traveling on Plymouth Street. A 1988 Dodge driven by Lois Pracey of Le Mars sustained front-end damage in the collision. The Tracey car was traveling south. Police report says trucks ahead prevented the drivers from seeing each other.

George Moran a retired city employee died Sunday at Sacred Heart hospital after a four year illness.
