Nipco Poles Burned By Fence-Row Fires Look Like Shockers

Northwest Iowa Power Cooperative crews have had to replace poles burned by fires caused by weed burning along fence rows. Each fire is energized with three conductors at 69,000 volts. Do not use water on a pole fire and contact the cooperative immediately.

Missing Persons Bureau Joins Le Mars Chamber Effort

The Le Mars Chamber of Commerce adds a Bureau of Missing Persons alongside Agriculture Civic Retail and Industries and Services. Sixteen inspectors from each bureau study case histories, examine records, and check clues under Chief Inspector John Vollmar and Captains Bob McKune Darren Keterson Al Enghers and Orval Nielson. Searches run through the Chamber office with weekly cards assigned to inspectors bearing a missing person’s name.

Titus Knuebel of Treton Dies After Stroke at Home

Titus Knuebel a longtime Treton resident died at 8 15 Thursday May 24 after a stroke. Born in the Netherlands he came to the U S as a young man married in Kansas April 3 1900 and moved to Ireton in 191% where the couple lived since. They observed their 56th wedding anniversary in 1956. Funeral arrangements are pending pending relatives are heard from. He was a member of the Christian Reformed church with Rev John Hurst pastor. Burial will be in Pleasant View cemetery in Treton. Survivors include his wife nine daughters Mrs Willim Brown Mrs Harold Copper Mrs Herman Van Zyl Mrs Wilson Van Bruggen all of Chicago Mrs William Van derKiest of Dyndon Washington Mrs Edward Biemers of Sioux Center Mrs John Decker Mrs Henry Van Bruggen and Marian Vellinza all of Treton. one son preceded him in death.

Brinkhuis Brothers Datriet Court suit alleges October 26 1988 accident one mile north of Le Mars on Highway 75. County Board Awards $259,418 in Blacktop Contracts

The Board of Supervisors approved two summer blacktop contracts totaling $259,418. Lee and Johnson Inc. won surface work on county roads L and J: 3.684 miles for $93,322 and 8.142 miles for $206,842. Cameron Joyce & Co. won two contracts for the Akron area roads F and A totaling $159,253.
