Two Die in Sioux County Car Truck Crash
A collision near Orange City killed Mr. and Mrs. Frank H. Jans of Arcariat Carroll county Ja. aged 79 and 61 after their eastbound car on highway 10 stopped for a passing vehicle then entered the path of a southbound truck on highway 75. Lloyd Punt 21 of Sioux Center Co-Operative truck driver was taken to hospital as a precaution with no serious injuries. The crash raised Sioux County 1959 fatalities to eight, joining another double fatality near Orange City earlier in March involving Mr and Mrs Gerrit Meyer Jr both 80.

Liquor Fines Imposed on Le Mars Barkeeps
Francis Buck Witter 29 of Le Mars pleaded guilty to selling liquor and received a 300 dollar fine plus costs from Judge R G Rodman at district court. Witter, bartender at Grand Central Le Mars, bond set at 500 dollars and represented by Orville Hames. On same day Paul Lendt 49 of Le Mars also fined 300 dollars and costs for the same charge. Lendt, Adelphi Lounge bartender, paid the fine. State forfeiture included three bottles whiskey three bottles grandy one bottle gin peppermint schnapps vodka and creme de Menthe.

Kenkels Hit Headon With Heidesch Near Remsen
Mr and Mrs Nick Kenkel farmers north and east of Remsen in fairly good condition at Sacred Heart hospital after a near head on collision with Loren Heidesch of Remsen. The crash occurred Easter Saturday about 1 30 p m two miles east of Remsen on a gravel road. Mrs Kenkel fractured left leg and forehead lacerations while Mr Kenkel suffered possible fractured rib and injured arm and leg. Both cars were badly damaged. Kenkel vehicle towed to farm and Heidesch car to Remsen. Patrolman Luitjens investigated. They planned to visit Spencer to fetch their daughter Nellie. The Kenkels spent a fair night Sunday.

Easter Egg Hunt by Junior Chamber draws 400 kids

Nobody Hurt In Crash Near Seney On Highway 3
The sheriff's office investigated an eight thirty a m accident three miles south of Seney on highway 3. William Elliott driving a 1945 International truck stopped at a stop sign and pulled across the highway when struck by a 1957 Ford driven by William Edward Hartman Sr of Hospers. Passenger Lison Hurst of Hospers was also in the car. None were seriously injured but car passengers were bruised. Truck damage slight and car damage about five hundred dollars. A curve north of the site contributed to the crash.
