Three Killed In Automobile Accident Near LeMars Iowa
Audrie June Hamilton 27 of Washta Iowa an Lua Cll Manufacturing employee died in an auto crash near LeMars when her 1950 Chevrolet veered off a county road and impaled on a creosoted fence post. The vehicle owned by Lyle Holden Westmaco college student was driven by Hamilton who was en route from Washta to meet Holden. Coroner S H Luken said death was due to a broken neck with fatal internal injuries from the steering wheel. The body was found by milk truck driver Laurence Puner near Eyres and Suzmann farms southeast of LeMars. Funeral services are set for Washta Federated Church Wednesday at 2 PM. The Hamilton family and several siblings are listed as survivors.

Richard Warne Rippey 25 a journalism student at the University of South Dakota died from injuries in a collision near Vermillion. The 1951 car carrying six USD students struck a farm family car near Gayville. Darrell Watson driver survived with others unharmed. Rippey is mourned by his mother Edna and sister Sallee with funeral at LeMars First Methodist Church. He served in the navy and belonged to Lambda Chi Alpha and Veterans groups. Funeral followed at LeMars city cemetery.

Akron man killed in one car crash on highway 12
Donald Gale 28 of Akron died instantly Saturday in a one car crash eight miles north of Sioux City Plymouth county. Gale’s car left highway 12 and crashed into a 12 foot ditch. Passenger James Kelly 22 of Akron survived in critical then serious condition at St Vincent’s hospital Sioux City after chest and head injuries. Coroner said they seemed returning to Akron from Sioux City and Gale may have dozed. Funeral for Gale set for Akron St Patrick church with burial in Akron cemetery. Gale born January 5, 1928, veteran of Korean War and American Legion member. Survivors include parents four brothers and five sisters.
