A broken four-metal belt lacing on the Globe-Post press Thursday night halted printing. No fixers were available, causing delays. Several hundred subscribers inquired, with 100 to 150 stopping for extra copies. About 3600 papers were printed, enough for Le Mars circulation. remaining copies delivered Friday after repair. No serious injuries occurred to Norman Kreykes.

Fireworks planned for Le Mars Fourth celebration
Le Mars will host a Fourth of July celebration on Sunday July 5 led by Dick Masuen after E W Rogers of the chamber said last year’s event drew about 10 000 viewers. Fireworks from Rich Brothers of Sioux Falls will be used with aerial pieces favored. The display will be free at the fairgrounds if secured, and funding aims to add 400 to the remaining 400 from last year. Oyens plans a separate free July 4 fireworks show with its Amusement Company owner present and rides on both days.

Tractors Fall On Two Farmers In Iowa Fatalities
Harry Walker aged 63 died when his tractor overturned on his Pierson farm and trapped him about 3 p.m. A neighbor found him later. Dr. Thomas L. Coriden, county coroner, listed 3 p.m. as the time. In a second incident Ernest Strautz, 80, of Gnawa died when his tractor overturned west of Whiting while hired to help build a fence. Both bodies were sent to local funeral homes in Kingsley and Onawa.
