Jamal Atallah Killed in One Car Crash near Canton
Jamal Hanna Atallah, 28, an international exchange student from Jordan and Westmar College alum, was killed instantly in a single vehicle crash on highway 77 seven miles west and five miles north of Canton. He drove a panel truck and reportedly lost control, overturning into a ditch. The Globe-Post printer had planned to study law at the State University of Iowa. Funeral services are set for July 14 at Calvary Evangelical United Brethren Church.

James Tripp of Sioux City waived preliming in mayor s court on uttering a forged instrument and was bound over to district court. John Horner of Sioux City charged with false drawing and uttering a check on two counts. They were picked up after Le Mars police suspected they passed 280 in checks there. Both are described as nineteen or twenty and are among three check artists in the county jail. Stan Willmes has been in jail days on the same charge. John Materes of Le Mars is jailed on petty larceny for 30 days.
