Car Rolls On Slippery Blacktop Near Le Mars
A 1957 Chevrolet owned by Bob Kass of Le Mars and driven by his 6 year old son Charles Robert rolled three miles south of Le Mars on a wet slippery blacktop at about 4:45 a.m. Wednesday. The car left the road and slid into a ditch. Charles was uninjured, and the vehicle was towed to Stoos Brothers Garage at the Lolan Cronin corner.

Honest face helps pass bad checks in Le Mars stores
A young man in his early 20s passed five counterfeit checks totaling 70 dollars at three Le Mars retailers using the name Bill Titze. The checks drawn on Le Mars Savings Bank raised no account warnings, and police say no arrests have been made as the suspect likely left town. Merchants noted the man resembled locals and cashed checks with a convincing, trustworthy appearance.

Accidents in Le Mars Involve Multiple Collisions
At 7 p.m. Tuesday Matt Koeng of Le Mars was backing a 1953 Pontiac from a curb on Ply. St. near 2nd Ave. west when it struck a westbound 1955 Chevrolet driven by Paul Mueller of Le Mars causing over 50 dollars damage to the Pontiac left rear and Mueller’s front end. Earlier Tuesday at 9 a.m. Henry Huls of Le Mars traveling north on highway 75 tried a left turn into the Frontier cafe driveway when his 1948 Mercury collided with a southbound 1950 Chrysler driven by William Marley of Lyons Creek. Hull’s car suffered about 150 dollars in front end damage while the Chrysler totaled around 75 dollars.
