A Roberts dairy truck driven by William Kohler, of Le Mars customers, collided head on with M. H. Gallard of Sioux City near the Marbach store at Ruble along Highway 3 between Le Mars and Akron. Kohler injured his leg. Gallard sustained a bad head bump. Both vehicles ended up at Sioux City. some milk products were lost.

His wife Jean is hospitalized. details of the accident were not released. He served 18 years in the Army, born November 14, 1918 in Ida Grove Iowa. He enlisted at Fort Lincoln North Dakota. He was stationed in Germany near the French border and went to Europe in October 1982. He is survived by his wife, two sons, two daughters, and several siblings.
