Henry Harms Funeral to be Held Saturday
Henry J. Harms prominent Le Mars banker died at Fontenelle Hotel in Omaha at 3:00 a.m. on Tuesday February 23 following a heart attack. He was 66 and lived in Brunsville most of his life. He led Le Mars Savings Bank since 1943 and served as chairman of group 1 of the Iowa Bankers Association. Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m. Saturday February 27 at Jake's American Lutheran Church in Le Mars with Rev. A. F. Zent officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery. Survivors include his widow Katherine three daughters Harold Jr. a son twelve grandchildren and several brothers and sisters. The Le Mars banks will close at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday for the funeral.

Gerhard August Wilken 71, lifelong community member, died February 24 at Sacred Heart Hospital after two days of illness. Born April 24, 1882 in Grant Township, he farmed in Plymouth and Stout counties before retiring in 1947 and moving to Le Mars. He married Anna Croon on September 4, 1920. Funeral at 2:00 p.m. February 28 at Christ Lutheran Church, Grant Township, with burial in Christ Lutheran Cemetery. Survived by wife Anna, three sons Henry Melvin and Maria Wilken, one daughter Viola Wilken, two grandchildren, sister Catherine Roehrich, brothers Mike and Dick, and preceded in death by parents, two children, a sister and a brother.
