Kay Kramer son of Mr and Mrs Cyril Kramer of Remsen, a 1933 Le Mars High School graduate, charts his third season with the University of Iowa Band as it journeys to its first Rose Bowl appearance. He helps organize the trip as drum major aboard one of the band cars. Kramer studies for a Bachelor of Music Education in Liberal Arts, also participates in the Concert Band, University Chorus, and Hillcrest Dormitory Student Council. The trip is sponsored by GM’s Oldsmobile division with parades, concerts, tours, and appearances from Dec 28 to Jan 30 in Omaha, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Houston, and Iowa City.

Le Mars Iowa December 4 1956 the board of supervisors met in session chaired by Richardson with Nab e Moritz Kann and Plueger present. Minutes read Oct 15 through Nov 26 confirmed. The board set eight hour workdays for road clearing with funding from the road clearing fund. A cigarette permit for a Trometer of Liberty Two was approved along with a bond. H W Green granted installation of 40 feet of work at Sec 27 91 45 with Greenwaldt handling the work. A resolution to invite bids from the Iowa State Highway Commission for a bridge project over the Missouri Sioux River at Iowa was approved. Various payments from Construction and Maintenance Funds listed. The session adjourned.
