Friends of the Leonard Hauschild family gathered Friday at the farm one mile east and two miles north of Brunsville to bale fifteen acres of alfalfa. The work followed the loss of their son Larry, with a lunch served by local ladies. A Globe-Post photographer captured a picture of both the ladies and the men for publication.

Remsen Girl Badly Hurt In An Accident
Six year old Dana Schumacher of Remsen sustained a skull fracture concussion punctured ear drum and multiple bruises after running into a moving truck while playing with brothers and neighborhood children. She showed marked improvement and was described as good at Sacred Heart hospital. The driver Ed Jaminar stopped and assisted, with the girl later transported by doctors George and Christensen.

He served as secretary treasurer of the church for 25 years and worked as a rural mail carrier. Funeral at St Johns Merrill August 7 with Rev J M Rohde officiating, burial in Hillside Cemetery. Survivors: wife Emma son Myron of Pittsburg three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents and brother Elmer.

Three Akron youths Charles Gant Carol Brown and Patty Borchers joined 174 attendees at the sixth annual High School Music Camp at the University of South Dakota June 16 to 23. They performed in the Grand Concert at Slagle Auditorium as part of choral and band programs. Charles Gant and Kay Myron earned Two Berks Scholarships worth 1000 each from auditions June 20. Charles has attended Vermillion camp four years while Brown and Borchers joined for the first time. Sandra Tucker also participated in the Vermillion scholarship auditions.
