Father Waite to be ordained at Sioux City cathedral

Hurt When Caught In A Garden Plow

Leon DeRaad of Treeton suffered a severe leg injury when his right shin and toes were caught in a mounted garden plow in motion at the Edward Winterfeld firm northwest of Ireton. He was alone when found in shock and, after transfer to Hae Arden hospital, remained in poor condition.

Slight Delay In Lighting Up Luminaires On Central Ave

Central Ave street lights face a delay as lighting will unfold in sections. Iowa Public Service Co official Darrel Ketelen said the first two luminaires at the library corner will be installed next week, with four planned initially. Bill Reuter announced Junior Legion baseball practices begin this Sunday May 1 at 6 p.m. at McDuffie Park for players ages 13 to 17 after January 1, 1954. Anna Goutto learned of her brother-in-law Philip Gotto’s sudden death in Charter Oak, Iowa. Gotto, age 61, died of a heart attack while driving. Neighbors Aid Peterson Farm After Fire Burns Caregiver

Mrs Farley Peterson suffered 1st to 3rd degree burns rescuing a flaming lard container.
