Special-Le Mars Eastern Star holds special session at Masonic Temple
Special meeting of Special-Le Mars Chapter No. 70 Order of Eastern Star convened at the Masonic Temple with Bette Halland and Herman Vander Well presiding for initiation. Mrs. Lois Schulders received a Grade A report on instruction work. Guests from Marcus, Kingsley, Orange City, Hawarden, Storm Lake and Sioux City attended. A Harvest theme was set for the year with ESTAR project funds collected and a coin box granary donated by Herman Vander Well.

Reichert Tops Ladies Bowling with 247 High Game
Glada Reichert led the Le Mars Association ladies bowling scene last week with a 247 high game, beating teammate Wilma Masuan by four, and Sammy Hardacre’s 244 from February. Reichert’s 565 series falls six pins short of the famed 600 club.

Life's End Special Wesley Hicke dies at 58 in Fort Dodge
Wesley Hicke 58 of 902 North 15th Street Fort Dodge died Thursday March 7 at Mercy hospital Fort Dodge after a heart attack. Funeral services were Saturday at Bruce Memorial chapel with Rev. Duane R Voas officiating. Burial followed at North Lawn cemetery with Masonic rites by Ashlar lodge No 1 AF and AM. He was born near Le Mars to Mr. and Mrs.
