The Ellerbrook Starrett Arlington Annex Hedy s cafe and Strak s Clothing were a total loss as 13 fire trucks from 11 communities aided by firefighters fought the blaze for hours. Anna A Davies Welch known as Grandma Welch dies at Wayne hospital at 101. Born in Wales in 1861, she moved to Le Mars as a child and later taught in Wayne. Omaha man admits grocery slaying in store robbery
Omaha officials report Leon Harris, 32, admitted the Saturday night slaying of Omaha grocer Ben Noodell, brother in law of Mrs Ed Mazvinsky of Le Mars. Noodell was found with his throat cut and four bullets in his head after his store was robbed of over $300. Harris gave a statement but officials released no details.
