Treinen to Run Remsen Hiway Station on Highway 3
Ken Treinen formerly of Le Mars starts operation of the Hiway station and tap on Highway 3 on Remsen's south edge. He leased from Attorney Orville Hames who bought it from Enoch Johnson. The business opens Monday through Saturday at 4 am. The Treinen family moved to Remsen Sunday, leasing a nearby house. Prior to Remsen, Ken worked 24 years at Walter Cleaners in Le Mars. A grand opening will be announced later. Cub Scout Pack No. 14 meets at Calvary church Monday June 24 for a trip to Sanford Museum in Cherokee, with transport by Marvin Susemihl and a hamburger fry at Le Mars Municipal Park.

Two Minnesota Families In Heads-On Collision Near Le Mars
Two Minnesota families returning from a vacation trip to Denver and the Black Hills reached Le Mars at 5 45 am Thursday. Their northbound cars collided at the four way stop of highways 75 and 3. The Perkins of St Cloquet and the Finberg of Wrenshall suffered about 500 dollars in damage each. The Perkins 1956 Oldsmobile had left rear quarter damage while the Finberg 1957 Plymouth had right front damage. Lt. Joe Sutton, investigating officer, reported 60 day license suspensions for Merle DeBoer 19 of Maurice habitual violator.

Victor Cloete, a foreign senior at Le Mars Community High School, plans to leave Saturday for Benoni Transvaal South Africa. Sponsored by American Field Service and host family Mr. and Mrs. Werb Floyd, Victor joined the class of 1963 last August and will tour the United States with other foreign students before returning home.
