Pammel Discusses Mormon Ridge as Potential State Park Site
Prof L H Pammel botanist and Iowa State College chair with Emerson Hough Izaak Walton League committee surveyed Mormon Ridge in Marshall county to consider preserving rare flora as part of a future state park. Funds are tight and Marshall county must cooperate to aid report and action. The plan envisions selective portions rather than full park, focusing on Iowa’s origin flora and near nature access for the public. Local visitors include Mr and Mrs Charles Pray and son Donald of Minneapolis and Mr and Mrs Burton Minish of Peoria who attended Cornell College graduation in Mt Vernon after LeGrand calls.
