Dunbar High School held senior events starting with a prank ticket by the junior class at Stone's Cafe on April 24. Activities included a senior-senior dinner, a three-act senior play Let’s Go Somewhere, a baccalaureate by Rev. Wilson, and May 14 commencement with Rev. P. G. Dennis as speaker. Alumni banquet May 30 announced officers Corrine Carlson president and Gerald Stonewall vice president.

Death of Mrs Lee Wilson in Marshalltown
Mrs. Lee Wilson of Marshalltown died at 4 AM after an operation, due to an embolism. She was active in her husband’s sheriff campaign and served as campaign manager. Born Dena Hanson June 30 1886, she taught in local schools and Tama, married March 4 1914, and is survived by husband two children and two brothers. Funeral held at Central Church of Christ with burial at Timber Creek cemetery.

Louis Leech aged 70 born in LeGrand Marshall County to Samuel Y and Ann Eliza Leech. He worked 45 years in railway mail service retiring eight years ago traveling St Paul to Dubuque. He was Groff Paper secretary and a Mason. Survived by widow Susie and three brothers. Interred Riverside cemetery Marshalltown after Monday May 23 passing. Addie Pierce and grandchildren visited Hilsabeck home. Lina Webb and grandchildren Janice Hoskey and others visited Omundson home.

A May 24 celebration marked Ole H. Bryngelson turning 90 with a family reunion at Andrew Bryngelson’s Dunbar home. Attendees from Primghar Los Angeles Des Moines Minneapolis Mason City Marshalltown LeGrand and Albion shared photographs and a multi generation portrait with a cake. Refreshments followed as relatives and neighbors gathered to honor the longtime community figure born in Norway in 1846.

Hartman Goffin Injured by Horse Kick
Hartman Goffin badly injured last Friday when kicked full in the face by a horse at the barn. He reached the house and a doctor was summoned then to rush him to hospital. The jaw is broken and teeth knocked out. anti tetanus serum given and jaw wired. Neighbors helped plow Hartman’s corn and the community offers sympathy.
