Birth of a Nation to play four days at Odeor Marshalltown
The Odeor in Marshalltown will present D W Griffiths The Birth of a Nation for four days starting August 31. The epic combines 5600 scenes 19000 actors and 3000 horses with a 40 member symphony, cost half a million dollars to produce and eight months of filming. It features Civil War battles Reconstruction and a dramatic Ku Klux Klan sequence with detailed period recreations. Box office opens seven days before opening. matinee prices from 5c to 50c and evenings from 50c to 1 56.
