Westside Mall Zoning Denied by Planning Commission
Lawton zoning panel rejected a 73 acre west side mall plan on a 5 3 vote amid arguments for and against. Developers led by General Growth Properties faced concerns about commerce balance, flooding, and sewer service while downtown projects and west Lawton growth were weighed. The panel also denied two northwest side rezoning requests and approved a war memorial plaza plan along with advisory transportation planning group and $800 for bikeway planning.
