Morris Criticizes Indian Bureau Moves On Oklahoma Agencies
Rep Toby Morris of Lawton denounces plans to shrink the Oklahoma City Indian office and move personnel to Anadarko and Muskogee. He cites added staff instead of reductions, noting 31 workers now vs the planned 10 and 19 high-salary positions. The Anadarko Daily News reports opposition to the consolidation, with Anadarko and Muskogee agencies named for western and eastern Oklahoma and Oklahoma City to be a processing center. Morris vows to pressure the Indian bureau to follow the agreed plan.
