No Ruling Yet On Military Pay Hike Pending Sunday Action
The Cost of Living Council foresees a multi billion dollar military pay increase taking effect Sunday as Phase 2 of Nixon policy unfolds. The Pay Board has not yet ruled on the military raise or civilian federal employee salary guidelines, with announcements expected soon. Ford Motor Co Chairman Henry Ford II says he will seek permission for appropriate price increases after reviewing the new guides. Donald Rumsfeld notes pending decisions and ongoing price guidelines aim to keep overall price increases near 2.5 percent post freeze.
